Let's 'Mesh' Around with Magic Mesh
By Colleen Kidder
Ideas for Use:
* Layer Magic Mesh over anything for dimension.
It's easy to trim Magic Mesh to any shape or
size.
* Place over the top of words or titles.
* Place over designer papers.
* Layer on top of card stock that has first been
stamped (or use your wheels first to create your
own designer papers).
* Place on card stock and then lay a piece of
window sheet on top of the Magic Mesh. Then use
the StazOn pad to stamp on the Window Sheet
(acetate).
* Use Magic Mesh to create instant borders.
Create a decorative border along the bottom or
top of a scrapbook page or along the sides of
your cards. Faster and easier than you can
imagine, just layer Magic Mesh over existing
borders from the Simply Scrappin' Kits and
die-cuts and the AlphaAccents™.
* Cut it into different widths and then lay it
on your project using alternating from thinner
to thicker widths.
* Layer Magic Mesh underneath photos or die-cuts
and trim to get a custom background for your
treasures.
* Place Magic Mesh at an angle on the edge of a
tag.
* You can also create custom colors as white
mesh is easily colored to match any paper or
photo. Just dye it using a brayer or sponges so
the color will match your project. You'll be
amazed at the different colors and moods you can
create.
* Place it on top of a Window Sheet (acetate)
and then use that to create a pocket to slide
text or a photo into.
* Use your square punch to create a window (or
several in a row). Then place the Magic Mesh
behind those squares and place a button, poly
shrink charm, smooth pebble, vellum tag, metal
tag or other punch shape on top. You may also
choose to put a patterned paper underneath the
mesh first to add yet another layer of depth.
* Apply glitter over the top of Magic Mesh.
* Fun lettering is as easy as cut and stick! Use
Magic Mesh with a Sizix, die-cut, Coluzzle or
any cutting system. Just place it on paper
before cutting. fast, easy and you get original
3-D lettering! Opportunities are endless.
* Use Magic Mesh as a stencil and run your
brayer across it to create a mesh look on your
page. Then peel it up and save it to use again!
You can also try using watercolor pencils or
chalks to create subtle tiling effects.
* Use Magic Mesh for fun and funky Photo
Corners. Just cut and stick... it's that easy to
keep your photos on the page.
* Weave wire, ribbon, string, or anything
through Magic Mesh! Magic Mesh allows you to
creatively weave anything you can dream up.
Don't like it? Peel it up and try again.
* Use several different colors of mesh as color
blocks on your page.
* After applying to your project press a
VersaMark® pad on top of Magic Mesh and sprinkle
on Glassy Glaze (ultra thick embossing powder).
Then you can make an imprint with your stamp
while the Glassy Glaze is still warm. Awesome
textured look!
* Brayer over it, then lift for a great reverse
image on projects
* Place two pieces of mesh on top of each other
but slightly askew... It creates a very neat new
pattern. Try this using several different colors
of mesh.
As you see you can do almost
anything with Magic Mesh. Emboss on it, stamp on
it, dye it, punched it, layer it, stencil it,
laminate it, weave it or tie ribbon and raffia
to it... You can't go wrong! Now let the
other ideas start pouring in and reinvent your
cards and scrapbook pages with Magic Mesh!
