Recycling Soda Tabs in your Stamp & Scrap Projects

Items you will need:

  • Pop tabs or Soda tabs whichever part of the country you live in!

  • A file or sandpaper or sanding block

  • Versamark or Clear Embossing Ink

  • Embossing powder

  • Stampin' Up! Tool kit – eyelet hammer and tweezers

  • Ribbon

  • Heat gun

Steps to Use:

  1. Before you recycle the soda can, remove the pull tab and clean it.

  2. Using your eyelet hammer from the Stampin' Up! Stampin' Tool Kit, flatten any sharp areas where the tab separated from the can.

  3. If choosing to alter color by embossing - Rough up the surface with a nail file, sandpaper or the sanding block found on page 217 of the Stampin' Up! Catalog

  4. Hold the tab with tweezers from Stampin' Up! Stampin' Tool Kit and coat it with embossing ink.

  5. Dip it in the embossing powder.

  6. Heat the powder with your heat gun. Work in two sections for complete coverage. TIP- Use two layers of embossing powder by repeating steps 5 & 6 for the nicest finish.

  7. Run your ribbon through the tab, then attach it to your layout with your favorite adhesive or tie in bow or not to one side.
